Project report
A campus is a symbol of openness to the world, exchange and freedom of thought. With this in mind, the campus of the Vienna University of Economics was created from the designs of six renowned architects from all over the world. In addition to the characteristic buildings, each of which underlines a different language of form and functionality, the overall location of the campus with its green spaces has become a concept that has caused a stir around the world. Located directly on the Prater, the university of economics is a pulsating center of science and a place for leisure and relaxation at the same time. 35,000 m² were built on a plot of 90,000 m², the remaining square meters are interpreted as open areas - visitors will look in vain for fences and barriers. The business university sees itself as cooperative center that is open to all citizens and is establishing itself in the second district, i.e. in an extremely central location in Vienna, as an exchange platform for science, politics and culture.
Knauf Integral was involved in this international concept with a large part of the floor design. A good 12,000 square meters of GIFAfloor DB double floor were laid in the different parts of the building.
