The Squaire Frankfurt

AN AESTHETIC NODE IN MODERN LIFE:

The architects of the Squaire had planned a particularly tricky task for Knauf: they had to design a domed area in the building's representative hotel, which was decorated with an artistically designed mosaic. This construction in the hotel courtyard was made possible by a custom-made GIFAfloor FHB 32 hollow floor - the perfect solution for an apparently unsolvable task.

Project report

The challenge to the builders of the Squaire in Frankfurt am Main could not have been greater: A "floating" building was planned, erected over two high-frequency motorway routes and as a direct supplier to one of the largest airport hubs in Europe: Frankfurt Airport. The highlight: The Squaire contains a fully-fledged ICE train station inside, which brings thousands of travelers to their planes every day. 600 meters in length and 350,000 tons in weight sound like a heavy structural colossus. The Squaire is anything but cumbersome. Rather, the building inspires with its architectural lightness and the continuously fascinating flood of light. Today's tenants benefit equally from this. Because the office areas, hotel complexes and shopping areas are integrated into their own dynamic world, as a hub of three high-performance mobility concepts.
